Getting started

Your first conversation

Install Stille on both devices. Choose a name and exchange an invite — no phone number required.

First launch

Download the APK, install it, then choose your language, name and theme. Contacts can see your name; you can change it in your profile.

Invites

Don't post active invite codes publicly.
Share them only with the intended person.

To invite someone

  1. Open Add contact in Chats or Contacts.
  2. Create a one-time invite, or share your persistent profile link.
  3. Send its link or show the QR code in person.

To accept an invite

  1. Open the full HTTPS invite link on Android with Stille installed.
  2. Profile links use /invite/i/ or /invite/i3/; the app handles the code locally.
  3. If the app does not open, scan the HTTPS QR with Stille's built-in scanner.

The site does not store or resolve profile codes. Availability of Android App Links depends on the installed app version and domain verification.

Connection troubleshooting

Peer-to-peer messaging needs a route between devices.

Same local network

Invites without an address rely on local discovery. Both devices need the same network with multicast allowed and client isolation disabled.

Different networks

A reachable address or relay may be required. Internet access alone does not guarantee a direct connection: NAT, firewalls and network policies can interfere.

Invite not accepted

Make sure the entire invite was received. The app checks validity and use; ask the sender for a new invite if needed.
